She protects me

She is my veil
Shrouding me
And my insanity
From the outer world

Which would not know
Why I lie
On the hardwood floor

With the chair legs
Gripped firmly
In both my hands

Shouting,
“Too narrow!
Too narrow!”

Because it is
Of course
Too narrow

But they
Would not know that
And neither does she

But still
She protects me
Like a young fledgling
In her nest
